MS Security Essentials
Microsoft recently announced they would be releasing a new Free AV to replace their existing and rather rubbish OneCare. MS also released a Beta of their new AV which I managed to get my hands on and have been testing for a while now…..
At first look MSE has a very fast and clean UI quite similar to Windows Defender in its looks and function as you can see from the screen shots below.
Notice the app found Angry IP Scanner as a bit of a concern :-p
So far Im quite impressed with MSE, its fast, consumes hardly any resources (currently only 2.5MB RAM!), doesnt bug you constantly and seems to detect threats well. It really does look like Microsoft have got their act together what with Win7, Office 2010 and now Security Essentials.
